Mike: Do you think there’s a stereotype with Asians and gaming?
Christy: There’s definitely a stereotype between Asians and gaming. It just doesn’t apply to women.
Mike: What do you mean? Are Asian women not into games as much as Asian men.
Christy: No, they’re too busy cooking rice for men sitting at their computers all day- gaming (laughs).
Mike: Okay, okay, moving on- I have to know: Why God of War?
Christy: Because it’s gorey. Has a great background story and Kratos is badass. The game play is intense and challenging but still easy enough for a girl to beat. And the sex scene doesn’t hurt, either.
Mike: Really? You are all for sex scenes in games?
Christy: Yeah? Why not? It keeps it interesting.
Mike: I agree. What is your appeal to Kratos?
Christy: I like his moves.
Mike: (I laugh) Does this mean you would have sex with Kratos?
Christy: Eh. He seems like he’d be rough and forceful, but I’m sure there are some downsides to him. He’s very pasty looking. And I doubt he ever showers. I mean, he spent 3 days climbing up a mountain. He must have a horrible stench- so that’s a turnoff.
Mike: (After I reassuringly sniff my underarms) Okay, okay- God of War I or God of War II?
Christy: Definitely 1. It’s what first got me hooked. GWII is way too short and it’s incomplete due to its cliffhanger. Total disappointment. But don’t get me wrong- GWII was still very entertaining.
Mike: Have you played one of the spin offs since?
Christy: I didn’t play the PSP version because I read online that the creator said he screwed it up bad. I wouldn’t want it to skew my view on the future of the series. I did however download the cell-phone game.
Mike: I’m assuming you’re talking about God of War Betrayal? The Java based entry for mobile phones?
Christy: Yeah. The game play is sadly limited because you only have so many buttons and combinations- there’s really only one for the game. But out of all the cell phone games, it definitely tops the list. That and solitaire.
Mike: Fair enough. Excited for God of War III?
Christy: Heck yeah.
Mike: Well, you know this one will be on the PS3. What would you add or take away in the newest installment? Would you utilize any of the PS3 capabilities?
Christy: No, I wouldn’t. The PS3 is still too new to me and I’m still loyal to the PS2.
Mike: You don’t think there’re any good possible online features for the future game?
Christy: I guess that’s up to the creators to figure out. I can’t imagine it being used for the game though. Unless there are a buttload of Kratoses running around Mount Olympus killing each other (laughs). That would be so awesome.
Mike: GW behind, what other games are you a fan of?
Christy: I like Mario Kart. Double Dash, I think it was- was my favorite. Lego Star Wars is awesome too. Heavenly Sword for the PS3 was fun and a good starter for the console for me. She was similar to Kratos excluding the male genitals of course.
Mike: Well, speaking of Heavenly Sword, do you not feel that GWIII could utilize the six-axis controller?
Christy: That’s the motion sensor in the control right? I guess it could go in, I’m bad at that- so I wouldn’t want it though (laughs).
Mike: Anything exciting on the horizon, excluding GWIII?
Christy: Um…is there a new Mario Kart for the PS3?
Mike: Not that I know of, sorry. Thanks for the interview and keep up the hot gaming.
