Hey Mass Effect fans, if you are on the ropes as to whether you should get the DLC for Kasumi Goto or not, I will tell you that it should depend on where you are with the game. If you are still in the middle of a playthrough, or if you are considering running through it again, then by all means purchase it. Below I will break down the elements that come with this $7 download and you decide for yourself whether you want it or not.
:: Kasumi Goto
In Fights: Although the AI found ways of running right into enemy fire with Kasumi, most of the time she is a badass partner. Her new skill allows her to vanish and appear behind enemies, delivering a one-shot kill. With Kasumi, you can acquire this skill and so if you play Vanguard, this combined with your other biotic tactics will make you quite the ninja… just like Kasumi.
The lady herself: She has a killer personality, dresses and fights like a ninja and has a cool Japanese flavor to her. Not to mention, she is very perceptive and knows a bit too much about Shepard. Sold on her yet? Well for me she looks like what I imagined Tali’Zorah would look like sans mask… but that isn’t why I like her. I like her because lets face it, the Normandy has an abundance of hard personalities to deal with, think Jack, Miranda (shiver) and Jacob. Having a fun girl who is willing to share a drink and a story, friendly-style ain’t so bad. I hope Kasumi makes it into Mass Effect 3.
:: The Mission
While the mission was a bit short and easy, there are a few things which really stood out about it. One it had a James Bond flavor, complete with hot human women strewn about lounging within the villain’s mansion (too bad I was with the hottest woman there). Two the villain has a museum which allowed me to see statues of creatures from Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect, Michelangelo’s David and (drumroll) the head of The Statue of Liberty. Pretty cool, but it makes me wonder what the hell is happening down on earth within the Mass Effect Universe. Will it wow you, hell no, will it excite you? Probably not. It was on the level of Zaeed’s mission – quick and easy.
Kasumi also unlocks an area of the Normandy that has a bar with a drink selection. If your Shepard is a lush like mine, you will dig going to talk to the Japanese hawte, while knocking back some red and blue liquor for the ultimate R and R. Hell it’s like this, chat up Kasumi, knock back a few, look at some art, take it up to the quarters and summon Kelly. Make sure she brings her dancing clothes and it’s on baby!
Trust me folks, you want Kasumi, did I mention she comes with a godly Sub-Machine Gun with pinpoint accuracy? Ya you know you want her. Just don’t get this DLC expecting it to be Mass Effect 3. GET HER ONLY IF YOU ARE STILL PLAYING.
