Developers to Bridge Mass Effect 2 and 3 Via DLC

badass jack Developers to Bridge Mass Effect 2 and 3 Via DLC

Good news fellow Mass Effect addicts, it seems that we will finally be shifting from “bored in space” enhancements (sorry Kasumi this means you too hon) to some actual Mass Effect 2.5 DLC. A real expansion would be nice, and I don’t mean some alternate crap like my beloved Dragon Age Origins sold us.

BioWare’s Casey Hudson: “We have a bunch of packs that are in the works right now… So, for the time being there’s going to be a continued stream of DLC for people. We’ll start to have packs that’ll tell the story between Mass Effect 2 and 3. But beyond that we kind of have to see how people are responding to what we have and go from there.”

This is very good news but I wish that even the DLC was a bit longer. The scorpion sub-machine gun that came with Kasumi was awesome and the new vehicle is cool and all but the 10-30 minutes of distraction with them is just not enough. How about a romance expansion so that Shepard can take his lady of choice for a romantic evening in Ilium or something? Or a naughty rendezvous with Gangster Aria of Omega? Far-fetched I know but these are the things we love about Mass Effect, save the story stuff for expansions and games but give us people who still float around after the credits – some mini games and dates to burn the time.

Anyway this is still wonderful news and with that in mind I think I will go ahead and wrap up my 3rd play-through to prep my Shepard for the 2.5 action. “Kelly could you please summon Tali’Zorah to my room”.
