During the final year of my control of Rafian Heilong, former Rebel Alliance leader, swordsman and Teras Kasi – I made the plunge into the Jedi skill-set and role-played the life of Rafian through a journal that I made public for my fellow gamers. What you are about to read is the struggle of a man who became a Jedi without the tutorship and guidance of a light or dark master. It shows Raf’s struggle to remain a good person even though his hard past (those of you who read The Chronicles of Raf will remember) makes for him being a true light Jedi damn near impossible. It is a doomed existence to live in the world of Vader and the Empire while being a Force user – this is the story of one such Force user and his struggle with being reborn from a former Rebel hero to a hunted outcast in the Star Wars galaxy. As always, thanks for reading. – Greg Dragon.
:: Entry 01 – The New Jedi Order
So there I was mulling about in Tyrena as usual… seems to be turning into a habit these days. I blame it on the strange stirrings I keep feeling… almost like a headache, without any pain, just the throbbing. I had the mission at hand from the Admiral, but I realistically couldn’t see myself fighting a Corvette alone. It was all a bit much, the responsibilities, the chaos of our world and myself being forced to go active again for the Rebel Alliance.
It has been days yet since I even held a woman… the strange urges kick up and the most unlikely faces float to mind… lithesome, beautiful bodies float pass me as I stood in the Starport, daydreaming like a child… what is wrong with me?!? My mind floats to Mustafaar and my pilgrimage there, it was an awakening, but alas not enough to ease my mind. Then my Comm-Link flared to life and Haleigh’s sweet but stern voice was alive on the other end… “There’s a couple Imp troublemakers here in Eisley” she said. It was all the excuse I needed to get out of my daze, I hopped unto Akasha (my X-Wing) and jumped to Tattoine immediately.
Upon landing I observed a small skirmish happening between Haleigh and several Imperial badges… all I had was my flight gear and an old Jawa Ion rifle I had taken along as a distraction… at my hip was “Legacy”, dare I ignite her? No, what if one of these fools escapes, that would flare to life my notoriety again… I have had enough of Bounty Hunters. Without hesitation I leapt from Akasha, sending bolts of Ion fire into their ranks… they instantly returned fire. Haleigh was gone… I was in trouble… so I ducked behind the Starport wall and used the Force to cloak. They had won the day, if only I could use “Legacy” without penalty, they would have been scattered.
Last night after that excitement I decided to follow up Derek’s invitation to a meeting… I was hoping that some fellowship with Force users like myself would make my living this lie easier and a bit bearable. I was brought to a hidden bunker, decked out to the ceiling to favor a temple of sorts, I was very impressed. Derek brought me before Lona (my buddy), Salkazza (a Wookie) and Beinon (a familiar face…maybe I know him from the war… still cloudy). They interviewed me and for the first time I spoke the truth… I told them how the holocrons have twisted me, how I draw from both paths of the Force to guide me… yet they accepted me. It was the first peaceful night I have had for days.
Derek and council elected me to be a master!! Can you believe it! Neither can I… I mean who would want the tutelage of a war-torn semi Jedi like myself, ha! I’ll tell you who, someone who will be a great Jedi in the future. I have so much to share, I have bottled up this knowledge for so long, it is bursting at the seams to be released… I was given my first student last night after taking my chair on the Council. She was a frightened little thing, a Twi’lek femme… I grow tired, it has been a rough morning for me so I must end my notes here. By the way I destroyed that corvette with the help of some good friends, I am now considered an Ace. Till next time, Raf out -=-
