While the return to Omega was a nice trip down memory lane, I found the relative length and mediocrity of this DLC “Omega” to be a bit disappointing. For the fans of Mass Effect lore and those who liked the gangster queen Aria T’Loak in ME2 – getting an entire DLC to spend some one on one with the Asari badass is beyond appealing. After all Aria disallows any of your crew to join you on her trip to usurp Omega’s... 

Let us talk about Slingshot, XCOM’s first DLC that is on the horizon. Slingshot has a massive UFO hovering over China and your Marines are deployed into the country to do their thing. This mission is unlike the vanilla ones that come with the game since it is multi-part and will operate more like an adventure. The Chinese maps will be unique (instead of the random city ones we get everywhere else) and at the end of the mission... 

I used to play the original 1994 version of X-COM: UFO Defense and it was such a fun game. The thing I remember the most about it was the difficulty in keeping your soldiers alive from mission to mission due to the surprises that the aliens would bring. You would get attached to one guy because he made it through 3 missions, deck him out in all the best gear and then a brand new alien with mysterious tech would shoot through a wall... 

Hmm so when it starts I think to myself “cool” because the lead appears to be a black woman (which based on our gallery is the rarest form of video game character to date) but then she started talking, and grimacing, and pouting and she became instantly unattractive. This is fine – the leading lady doesn’t have to have Lara Croft’s charisma… maybe the game itself will make me want to know more about her… Then... 

I don’t know about you but the way Connor Kenway of Assassin’s Creed III handles a tomahawk and a knife is damn near reminiscent of Mani from Brotherhood of The Wolf played by modern day warrior badass extraordinaire Mark Dacascos. Not sure what the hell I’m going on about? I am saying that the new “Assassin” in this sequel is a friggin surgeon with the tools… red coats straight get done, in... 

Goodbye Proudspire Manor! It’s bad enough that I treat Skyrim like a second life and now Bethesda brings us Hearthfire… a modder’s dream of a DLC come true. Now the game will allow me to buy land, setup my own home… wait let me rephrase… BUILD my own home and deck it out however I like! As a former SWG lifer with several homes owned and decorated in intimate detail this is like telling rapper Rick Ross that they have...

I’m late to the party but you have to see this trailer for The Old Republic… it starts off slow enough but the part that sticks out is the fighting skills of the Zabrak Jedi Master, mid-fight whilst he and his padawan tangle with some Sith nasties he not only permanently marks their master’s face but takes time mid fight to toss his saber over to deflect a killing blow meant for his padawan. PLUS he dual wields... 

Are you a Megan Fox hater? Then go ahead and kill yourself I hate you. Just kidding but as one of her few nerdy fans I know that Megan Fox is a bit more than meets the eye (pun very much intended).
