Everybody has their own personal top 10 lists for any genre of game, so I feel that I must preface this list by saying that this is the top 10 according to us here at 3GK and not a top 10 for the entire world. It was a little after Soul Calibur IV when it became painfully obvious that my beloved fighting game genre was in danger. The 2D monsters of yester-year were either ancient classics like Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike, or flashy distractions like Guilty Gear (do not pretend that this game series was impactful). Isn’t it about time the creators of our beloved game Street Fighter try their hand at an action RPG?
