Mass Effect 3 DLC: Omega – Review

aria in omega
While the return to Omega was a nice trip down memory lane, I found the relative length and mediocrity of this DLC “Omega” to be a bit disappointing. For the fans of Mass Effect lore and those who liked the gangster queen Aria T’Loak in ME2 – getting an entire DLC to spend some one on one with the Asari badass is beyond appealing. After all Aria disallows any of your crew to join you on her trip to usurp Omega’s...

Shadowgate Remake on Kickstarter – OMG!

eyes in the tunnel
Zojoi, the creators of Shadowgate are developing a new, epic version of the first-person fantasy adventure smash hit. Help make it happen! Man I remember this game as if it were yesterday, actually I remember 2 things… the spell “EPOR” that I used to stiffen some rope and a beast known as the Behemoth who would burn me to cinders if my magic game was on suspect. This is nostalgia on overload folks and the developers are trying...

Tecmo Bowl Throwback PSN – Review

For the nostalgic it may be better to just play your old Super Tecmo Bowl
For years we (my friends and I) have recalled the fun that we had with Tecmo Super Bowl for NES back in the day. We recalled the overpowered players and the ability to run a ball all the way back to one’s own end-zone only to sprint back to the opponent’s using Bo Jackson. The game was the highlight of its day showcasing Tecmo’s beautiful cinemas (they were some of the best at this) and running full seasons with friends,...

Fighting Games, Social Awkwardness and The Gamer

Goofy nerd gamer
So what is the future of fighting games? Street Fighter 4 has jump started the genre by bringing back veterans of the old series and attracting new blood to the competition. With the next installment being released soon, the upsurge can only continue to build until like it’s predecessors it dies down until the 5th sequel. But it worries me that only a few games are viable as true winners in the fighting game genre. Offhand I think...

Death of the Arcade Gamer

Hottie and ninjitsu master: Mai Shiranui was my champion in the arcades.
At the risk of sounding like a crotchety old man, I am going to open up a topic that is very passionate for all of us admins of 3GK. The topic in question is the dumbing down of games, or more specifically, the destruction of competitive one on one fighting games. This article was inspired by the previews of Street Fighter 4, a series that has been beaten into submission by a fan-base that no longer wants a technical fight…...
