The year is 1998 and I am a senior in High School, and instead of going to school on a daily bases I stayed home leveling my characters up. It got so ridiculous that I would make all my characters thieves and when it got to a scenario battle they would be so strong I would just pick away and steal pieces of there armor before killing the enemies on the battle field. Here is a game that took hours of my life, but I do not regret a moment of it; staying home from school doing the squat challenge and performing CPR on a NPR to get an item. The game really takes off when you meet Cid and jump in his airship, you could then travel anywhere in the world of Final Fantasy 7. A very exciting time in the game is when your materia maxes out and another piece of the same type is born. Another fun part is raising a Chocobo... 

Gamers, when did we become so lazy? When did it become too much work to read dialogue so everything has to be speech (referencing gripes people have with Dragon Age Origins). When did it become okay for Role Playing Games to be so linear, that you can imagine a developer holding your hand and walking you to the boss? When did it become necessary to give us a parry button as opposed to making it a direction combined with a punch or kick button?... 

When people used to ask me what game I thought was the greatest RPG that I have ever experienced, I would not hesitate to say Panzer Dragoon Saga. The problem with this claim is that only a few people who have experienced the game in its entirety would agree. Cursed to be presented on a platform that struggled horribly with full motion video (the Sega Saturn), many gamers couldn’t get past the ugly intro and midgame cinemas therefore missing out...

Many classic RPG archetypes have been developed off of the 4 core classes from Dungeons and Dragons. So it’s always a treat when a company manages to add a twist to one that makes it both unique and interesting at the same time. When I chose an Inquisitor when playing Sony’s Everquest 2 I found a take on the cleric/healer that could satisfy both my dps fetish while keeping teammates alive.
