I am really impressed with Bioware, I mean really, really impressed. Not because they make memorable, replayable role playing games but because their team gets it. While other companies still buy into the stereotype that only immature, perverted boys play videogames, Bioware makes their characters realistic, even anatomically and it has made for an acceptance that even your non gameplaying girlfriend can appreciate. Point being, the women that come into your life during gameplay are not of the simple, busty nature. They are not sexualized, they aren’t dumb, and they have very distinct personalities. When you meet a Bioware character, you can easily compare their mannerisms, nature and complexity to someone in life. The company places the experience over the graphics, and while the graphics are never a problem,( Mass Effect being a beautiful game on its own) it is the people/aliens you meet that leave an impression on you and that has been every game I’ve played from them.
To illustrate my point, I am going to introduce you to the three main women that are aboard the Normandy with Commander Shepard in Bioware’s award winning game Mass Effect and the 4 lovelies that come into the life of Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 2. I will illustrate my thoughts on them, what makes them special and who I chose to be his love interest and why.
